3 Ingredient Oreo Truffles
By Amy // Posted Jul 10, 2021 // Category No Bake
My 3 Ingredient Oreo Truffles are so quick to make and taste absolutely delicious! I really liked the texture of the truffles as it’s dense in the inside and you get a nice crunch from the chocolate on the outside. The truffles in itself have a wonderful rich and creaminess which I found divine!
They’re pretty fun to decorate as well. I don’t have kids but this is something I think the whole family would enjoy doing together. I used a variety of sprinkles and drizzled some white chocolate on top of some, but actually, all you need is melted chocolate and crushed Oreos to decorate.
You know, melting chocolate can get tricky, especially with white chocolate! Make sure to read my tips below to help you and to learn how to customise your truffles.

1. Ingredients
I used around two packs or Oreos and half a block of Philadelphia cream cheese(full fat). You can also use spreadable cream cheese but make sure to soak up the excess moisture from tub cream using a paper towel. You can add a splash of vanilla extract to enhance the sweetness, but it’s completely optional. With my truffles, I used Cadbury’s Dark Melting Chocolate as I wanted to balance the level of sweetness with the bitterness coming from dark chocolate.
2. Equipment
The easiest way to make these truffles would be through using a food processor. However, if you don’t have one, you could use either a stick blender, or a large ziplock bag with a rolling pin. If using a stick blender, the trick is to not blend too many cookies at once, maybe 4-5 at a time would work well. You need to make sure that you have fine crumbs with no visible chunks of cookies.
3. Melting chocolate
Before you melt anything, you need to make sure your chocolate is in small pieces and it needs to be very dry. If your chocolate is in a block form, you can either chop it up or grate it before melting. Also, chocolate hates moisture, this is why your equipment needs to be dry. If there’s water present, it would probably result in a lumpy mess as your chocolate could seize.
If you want to use drizzle some white chocolate on top, the easiest way would be to put some white chocolate into a ziplock bag and seal it. Then pop it into some boiling water, then wait until the chocolate melts. When melted, cut off the corner a little and then you can drizzle it straight over your truffles.

4. Customise the truffles
There are so many variations that can be added to this recipe! Why not add a tsp of peppermint extract and top with crushed candy canes? Or add some booze, like a tablespoon of Kahlua or Baileys. I’d love to hear how you’ve changed yours!
Crush the oreo cookies (the whole cookie, including filling) using a food processor or place the cookies in a large ziplock bag to crush them with a rolling pin. You don't want any chunks of cookies, they should all be fine crumbs. Set aside a tablespoon of the crumbs to use as topping.
If using a food processor, place the cream cheese inside and blitz until the ingredients have come together nicely and no cream cheese is showing. You can do the same with a stand mixer or electric beater as well, beat the Oreo crumbs with the cream cheese at a low speed.
Place some baking paper on your kitchen counter. Scoop around a tablespoon full of the truffle mixture and roll it into a ball, then place it on top of the baking paper.
To decorate, place the chocolate (chop it into small pieces if you have a block of chocolate) into a heat proof medium sized bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Then take it out and stir. Then put it in again in 15-20 second intervals and stir until the chocolate is mostly melted. Take it out and stir until the residual heat melts the rest.
Place the truffle into the bowl with the melted chocolate and gently move it around using two forks. Place the truffle on one of the forks and use the other fork to remove excess chocolate from the bottom. Place onto the baking paper. Repeat until all are covered with melted chocolate.
You can sprinkle the reserved Oreo crumbs on top of each truffle. Make sure to do this before the melted chocolate sets. You can also decorate using sprinkles or drizzle with a different kind of melted chocolate. Wait until the chocolate has set before serving, placing the truffles into the freezer will help them set quickly. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge, freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
